"Waiting On" Wednesday (#23) Kissing in Italian (Flirting in Italian #2) by Lauren Henderson

8/07/2013

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week I'm picking:

Kissing in Italian (Flirting in Italian #2) by
Expected publication: March 11th 2014 by Delacorte Books for Young Readers

From Goodreads:
In addition to her studies, Violet loves the arts, the shopping, and the friendships she's found in Italy. But secretly, her main objective is to learn about her true identity and family history. She never imagined she would fall in love with handsome Italian Luca. And he feels the same about her. But there are certain rumors circulating, that if proven to be true will forbid that they end up together. They need answers, but are they prepared for the truth?

Why I'm Waiting:
Finally!  I have been waiting for this for what seems like forever.  As soon as I finished the first book, I was ready for this one.  I need answers to this mystery too.

Teaser and Top Ten Tuesday (#20) 08/06/13

8/06/2013

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

From pg. 57 of my ARC*

"Listen closely, evil-spawn child, I don't want to kid-sit you anymore.  And by the way, do you know you have the worst timing ever?"

*This is and ARC copy.  Page number and quotes may not be the same in the finished copy.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.

Top Ten Books I Wish Could Have Had Sequels

This is a very interesting topic because there are some books that are just perfect with how they ended and I don't need more.  Also, sequels can disappoint.  Other times I am actually surprised when a book has a sequel and it's even better than I expected.  So if I had to pick here are the ten books that I would love to find out what happens next.  Note there are no series in here that need another book to justify the ending (Delirium), but I certainly could have listed a few.

It's so hard for me to do one of these top 10 without including a Sarah Dessen book.  I a picking this one, because I can never have too much Dexter.  I am just dying to know what happens between him and Remy.

Love and Other Perishable Items by

Can we have a book that jumps ahead 10 years please?  What happens?  I know this book has mixed reviews, but it stuck with me, and I really want to see what happens next.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? 08/05/13

8/05/2013

This weekly recap is hosted by Shelia of One Persons Journey Through a World of Books and the kidlit version is hosted by Jen from Teach Mentor Texts. Each week we recap what we’ve read and look at what’s coming up this week.

I did pretty well even though I had to rush out of town for a family emergency last week.  I should get my blogging back on track too. This is what I got to last week, and what I have upcoming.
