Stacking the Shelves (#9)

5/04/2013

STSmall

Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga's Reviews where bloggers share what they got throughout the week!

So last week I mentioned that I was going to a book sale at one of the local libraries in the area.  Hardcovers were $1 and PB $.50.  I set a $20 budget, and of course went over.  Be prepared for a long list of books I bought.  I have NO idea where I'm going to put them all.

Feature & Follow Friday (#11)

5/03/2013

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee’s View and Alison of Alison Can Read.

This week's Question:

Give us a sneak! What are you reading? Tell us about a fun or fail scene in your current read.

I am a multi-book reader.  I have about 4 books going right now, Our Song by , Gone, Gone, Gone by , White Lines by , and
How to Lead a Life of Crime by .  This does not include the two books I have listed as DNF for right now.  I hope to try to finish those at some point, I just don't know when.  For this question it would probably be easier to talk about why the DNF have been such a fail for me.  but sticking to the actual question I guess I'll talk about one of the books I'm currently reading.  The bad thing is I'm in the first 1/4 of each of these books, and none of them have me very excited.  I think I'm particularly sad that Our Song has not grabbed me.  I don't know if I can pinpoint a fail scene, but the I'm having a hard time relating to the MC, or caring about her drama.  It's a contemporary romance, so I should be loving it, and maybe it will get better, but right now, it's pretty darn boring.  So that's my answer for this week.  I hope you're loving what you're reading.

"Waiting On" Wednesday (#10) A Most Dangerous Deception (Palace of Spies #1) by Sarah Zettel

5/01/2013

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week I'm picking:
A Most Dangerous Deception (Palace of Spies #1) by
Expected publication: November 5th 2013 by Harcourt Children's Books

From Goodreads:
A warning to all young ladies of delicate breeding who wish to embark upon lives of adventure: Don't.
Sixteen-year-old Peggy is a well-bred orphan who is coerced into posing as a lady in waiting at the palace of King George I. Life is grand, until Peggy starts to suspect that the girl she's impersonating might have been murdered. Unless Peggy can discover the truth, she might be doomed to the same terrible fate. But in a court of shadows and intrigue, anyone could be a spy—perhaps even the handsome young artist with whom Peggy is falling in love . . . History and mystery spark in this effervescent series debut.

Why I'm Waiting on It:
It looks like a cute fun book.  Of course nobody has reviewed it yet, so I'll let someone else take the early reviews just to see if it's as cute as it looks.
