Top Ten Characters You'd Like To Check In With

I often think about some of my favorite characters, and I do often wish we could check in on them.  This is very similar to my list of books that need a sequel, but there are some differences.  Here are the top ten.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9627755-isla-and-the-happily-ever-after

I picked Isla and Josh because we did get to check in on Anna and St. Clair, and I almost feel they are doing o.k.  Josh and Isla, I really want to know what's going in with them.

This book is one of those is that almost begging for a sequel. If I can't get that, I would love to peek in on Amelia and Chris about seven years after this book ends.

Another book where I really want to jump to the next summer and maybe even a few years later to find out Chelsea and Clint are doing.

Ah Remy and Dexter. One of my all time favorite books.  We do get a little peek at what's going on with Remy and Dexter in Just Listen, but I want to jump to about 5 years after that and see how they are doing.

I need more Hale in my life.  I don't know that another book is in the works ever, but I really hope we have not seen the last of Kat, Hale, and the rest of the gang.

I am so happy that we got a second book in this series, and I REALLY don't think we need another one.  However, I wouldn't mind just a few page update on how Mia and Adam are doing.

We do get to see more of Lydia and Seb in later books, but I would love to know what they're up to now.  The book centers around three girls, but really it's Lydia and Seb that I'm most interested in.

"Waiting On" Wednesday (#84) The Anatomical Shape of a Heart by Jenn Bennett

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week I'm picking:

The Anatomical Shape of a Heart by
Expected publication: November 3rd 2015 by Feiwel & Friends

From Goodreads:

A mysterious graffiti artist, an anatomy-obsessed artist, and a night bus that will bring the two together.

Artist Beatrix Adams knows exactly how she's spending the summer before her senior year. Determined to follow in Da Vinci’s footsteps, she's ready to tackle the one thing that will give her an advantage in a museum-sponsored scholarship contest: drawing actual cadavers. But when she tries to sneak her way into the hospital’s Willed Body program and misses the last metro train home, she meets a boy who turns her summer plans upside down.

Jack is charming, wildly attractive . . . and possibly one of San Francisco’s most notorious graffiti artists. On midnight buses and city rooftops, Beatrix begins to see who Jack really is—and tries to uncover what he’s hiding that leaves him so wounded. But will these secrets come back to haunt him? Or will the skeletons in Beatrix’s own family’s closet tear them apart?

Why I'm Waiting:

This looks like it's going to be great.  I love these kinds of stories, and the element of the different types of artists is fascinating.  Plus drawing dead bodies sounds both creepy and interesting.

Ten Books You Recently Added To Your To-Be-Read List

I have been on a roll lately adding new books to my TBR list.  I view a TBR list as being different from my TBR pile.  The pile indicates books that I actually own v. books I want to read, which end up on my list.  Most of the books I've been adding don't get published until 2016, so most don't have covers yet, and the descriptions are very sparse, so that would be a really boring list.  Here are some of the more recent ones though.

I like Lisa Schroeder.  I haven't read all of her books, but those I have read, I've really enjoyed.  I think this one looks like it will also be very good and memorable.

This one looks particularly interesting.  A cult, a girl with amnesia, a possible kidnapping.  I am very intrigued.

This looks like it will be super creepy and good.  I think this is one that I should be sure to read when I'm around other people.  I think the publishers did a great job of coming up with a blurb about this book, because it makes me want to read it right now.

This ended up on my list because I was approved for the ARC.  I love the idea of setting the Sherlock Holmes books in high school.

Expected publication: July 20th 2015 by Bloomsbury Spark

This looks like it will be a fun quick read.  I do enjoy a book that doesn't take itself too seriously every once in a while.  Now I could be completely wrong with my impression about this book, but I am intrigued anyway.

I love this cover and I really hope they don't decide to change it in the next couple of months.  The story itself looks like it may be very uncomfortable, and could be awesome.  But really, that cover.

The story of the Fates was always my favorite in mythology.  I am a sucker for books that tell their story.  I can't wait to dig into this one.

A retelling of the Lizzie Borden murders as told from the POV of a maid?  Sign me up!  I hope this book is as good as it looks like it will be.

I am a sucker for political books.  They are usually a double edge sword for me though.  They have to be really well done because I know a lot about the inner workings (or not) of the government, and the facts better check out, or my attention goes.  Either way, it's one that I will definitely have to read.
