Ten Books I Will Probably Never Read

This is really hard because I read pretty much anything.  I have a favorite genre of course, but I read from all genres. Here is my best try at this.

I Am Number Four (Lorien Legacies #1) by Pittacus Lore

Not only does it not interest me, but the whole idea about who is writing these books and how they came about just doesn't work for me.  It makes me very reluctant to read this series.

Boyfriends, Burritos & an Ocean of Trouble (Real Life #2) by Nancy Rue

I made the mistake of reading the first book in this series.  They have such cute titles, but unfortunately these are WAY too religious for me.

Life's a Witch (Life's a Witch #2) by Brittany Geragotelis

There was not a single thing I liked about the first book in this series.  There are way too many good books out there without torturing myself with this one.

The Lost (Witch & Wizard #5) by James Patterson

I don't know if there are going to be more after this one, but I don't care. I have officially broken up with this series.

Not Otherwise Specified by Hannah Moskowitz

This is hard for me to put on this list, but I have read a few books by Moskowitz, and they are just not for me.  I won't want to bring down the Goodreads score if I don't think I'm going to like a book, so I'll just avoid it.
 

Shadow Souls (The Vampire Diaries: The Return #2) by L.J. Smith

I have fond memories about the original series.  It wasn't great, but it was enjoyable.  The first one of this new series? Terrible.  I have absolutely no interest in reading this book or the 10,000 Vampire Diaries books that have come since. 

Small Damages by Beth Kephart

Another author who's books I just can't seem to get into, or the writing style doesn't work for me.  The books themselves sound awesome, but I am always disappointed when I read them.  It's just better to stay away.

Stormbringers (Order of Darkness #2) by Philippa Gregory

I was pretty meh about the first book, so I probably won't read this one.  That being said, of all the books on this list, I am most likely to read this one.
 

The Sweet Life (The Sweet Life #1) by Francine Pascal

The comeback book was such a disappointment.  I wanted my time back after I finished reading it.  I just can't imagine reading any more about the Wakefield twins.  They will forever stay permanently in my childhood.
 

The Twisted Tragedy of Miss Natalie Stewart (Magic Most Foul #2) by Leanna Renee Hieber

Another one where I didn't love the first book.  It was decidedly mediocre, so I will probably not continue with the series.

Why I'm Waiting:

I recently featured this book on one of my Top Ten Tuesdays, but I wanted to highlight it again, because I'm so excited about it.  The Fates are my favorite story from mythology, and I pretty much read every book about them.  This one looks very good, and I can't wait to get a copy of it.

Top Ten Books (Series) Which Feature Characters Who Have "Special" Abilities

I focus a lot on contemporary YA on this blog because it's my favorite.  But paranormal, supernatural, etc. can be really awesome.  On a separate note, why are so many of these series?  I don't know if I've ever read a stand alone supernatural/paranormal.  Here are some of my favorites that feature a character that has abilities that are considered to be outside the norm. 

Alice in Zombieland (White Rabbit Chronicles #1) by Gena Showalter

Who doesn't love a good zombie book?  I was attracted to this series because of the catchy title, but the series ended up being great.  
 

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles #1)  by Marissa Meyer

This is my favorite in the series so far, but this series as a whole is just awesome.  It was just a very strongly written book that is like nothing I expected.  So good.

Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls #1) by Maggie Stiefvater

This book just blew me away, and it started my love of everything Maggie Stiefvater.  It was achingly beautiful. I love the entire series, but this book was my favorite by far.

Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy #3) by Richelle Mead

This was my favorite of the series, so I put it on the list.  I adore this series, and although we are supposed to limit it to books, you should read them all if you haven't done so already.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (Harry Potter #1) by J.K. Rowling

No way could I pick a favorite Harry Potter book.  They are all so amazing.  I picked this one, if only because it was the first.

The Body Finder (The Body Finder #1) by Kimberly Derting

 I don't know if I have a favorite in this series, so I'm going with the first one. It's just a good solid series, that I think about a lot.  It would be awesome if many people had the ability of the female lead, it would make solving crimes a lot easier.

Shadowland (The Mediator #1) by Meg Cabot

I can't wait for the next book in this series, I read it so long ago, but I have such fond memories of it.  That being said, I wouldn't want to be a mediator.

Dark Triumph (His Fair Assassin #2) by Robin LaFevers

I don't think this book suffered the middle book syndrome, and it was actually my favorite.  I think I liked it because Sybella was my favorite character.

Touch of Frost (Mythos Academy #1) by Jennifer Estep

Another series where I can't pick a favorite, just another solid series.  It was just engaging and kept me interested for the entire series.

Shatter Me (Shatter Me #1) by Tahereh Mafi

This was definitely the best of the series, but as a whole, I enjoyed them all.
