Top Ten Books On My TBR For Summer 2015

These lists are always my favorites.  Like always, I am limiting this list to those books that are being published during the summer solstice June 21st through the fall equinox, on September 23rd.

 Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between by Jennifer E. Smith

 Expected publication: September 1st 2015 by Poppy

Jennifer E. Smith is quickly turning into one of my favorite contemporary writers.  I have the ARC on this, and I can't wait to dig in.

The Shadow Behind the Stars by Rebecca Hahn

Expected publication: September 1st 2015 by Atheneum Books for Young Readers

Another book I have the ARC to that I need to make sure I read before it comes out.  The Fates are my favorites from mythology, so this one has me excited.

Sweet Madness by Trisha Leaver & Lindsay Currie

Expected publication: September 18th 2015 by Merit Press 

Another book I have the ARC for that I must read.  I can honestly say that I've never read a retelling of the Lizzie Borden murders.  This book really has me intrigued.

Tonight the Streets Are Ours by Leila Sales

Expected publication: September 15th 2015 by Farrar, Straus and Giroux (BYR)

I've really enjoyed the other Leila Sales books that I've read, so I am pretty excited about this one.  Plus it almost has a Nick & Norah feel to it, that has me really intrigued.

Anne & Henry by Dawn Ius

Expected publication: September 1st 2015 by Simon Pulse

As a history major, I am really intrigued about how they are going to portray this.  I've seen some mixed reviews, now I just have to read it for myself.  I have the ARC on this one too, so I need to get to reading.

Jubilee Manor (Landry Park #2) by Bethany Hagen

Expected publication: August 11th 2015 by Dial Books

I found the first book in this series to be very interesting.  It wasn't a favorite from last year, but it had me intrigued enough to take a look at the second installment.

The Accident Season by Moïra Fowley-Doyle

Expected publication: August 18th 2015 by Kathy Dawson Books

Once again an ARC that I must make sure I read before it comes out.  I am really intrigued by this book.  I don't know if I've ever read anything like this story before.

The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich

Expected publication: September 15th 2015 by Little, Brown Books for Young Readers

This book looks unbelievably creepy, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.  I have seen a couple of early reviews on it, and others seem to really like it. 

The Boy Most Likely To by Huntley Fitzpatrick

Expected publication: August 18th 2015 by Dial Books 

This probably my most anticipated of all these books.  I LOVED Huntley Fitzpatrick's first book, and I can't wait to revisit some of these characters.

A Million Miles Away by Lara Avery

Expected publication: July 7th 2015 by Poppy

I love a good contemporary, and this book looks like it will be my type of book.  My only hesitation is that they state it's for fans of Nicholas Sparks.  That does not have me excited. Either way the ARC is sitting on my shelf waiting to be read.

Top Ten Sequels I Can't Wait to Get My Hands On

I missed this when it was done back in November, so I am going with my list now.  I have been pretty careful about sequels in the past few years because I got overwhelmed by the number of them I had on my list.  There are also a couple that didn't make my list because I do have the ARCs, I just have to get to them.

The Death Code (The Murder Complex #2) by Lindsay Cummings

Expected publication: April 21st 2015 by Greenwillow Books 

I enjoyed the first one, it was good, not excellent, but it intrigued me enough that I plan to check the next one out.

Miss Mayhem (Rebel Belle #2) by Rachel Hawkins

Expected publication: April 7th 2015 by Putnam Juvenile

I love Rachel Hawkins, and this series about kick-butt southern bells is a lot of fun.  I feel like I've been waiting forever for it to come out, and it's soon!

Rivals in the City (The Agency #4) by Y.S. Lee

Expected publication: March 10th 2015 by Candlewick Press

I honestly thought this series was done.  I'll be curious to see what this book is all about. This series has been deceptively good.  I don't love the books when I read them, but they are oddly memorable.

Royal Wedding: Princess Diaries, Volume XI (The Princess Diaries #11) by Meg Cabot

Expected publication: June 2nd 2015 by William Morrow & Company

One of my most anticipated books of 2015.  I am beyond excited to find out what happens next.  I think of Mia every once in a while, and can't wait to check in on her.  I honestly thought this series was done too, but I am thrilled that I was wrong.

The Ruby Circle (Bloodlines #6) by Richelle Mead

Expected publication: February 10th 2015 by Razorbill

The final book in this excellent series.  I am going to miss these characters so much.  I can't wait to find out how it turns out.

The Shadow Cabinet (Shades of London #3) by Maureen Johnson

Expected publication: February 10th 2015 by Putnam Juvenile

I've mentioned this before, but I loved the first book, kind of hated the second book.  I am really curious how this one is going to turn out. 

The Heir (The Selection #4) by Kiera Cass

Expected publication: May 5th 2015 by HarperTeen 

Yet another series I thought was over and done with. I was happy with the ending of book 3, so I am a little leery of this money grab of a 4th book.  I will still read it, and see what happens.

Instinct (Chronicles of Nick #6) by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Expected publication: March 31st 2015 by St. Martin's Griffin 

Another series that is deceptive on how memorable and addictive it is.  I never rush out to grab these books when they are published, but I do end up enjoying them while I read them. I have never read any of her adult books, but even without reading them, this series is enjoyable.

P.S. I Still Love You (To All the Boys I've Loved Before #2) by Jenny Han

I am very much looking forward to this one.  I will find out in a few weeks if they are on target for that date, but from my understanding the book was overdue. I was told no ARCs will be made for it.

 Top Ten New-To-Me Authors I Read In 2014

This one is hard because I got way behind on my reading this past year.  I read less then half of what I read in 2013,  and I'm blaming the baby.  Here are the new to me authors that I did read.

Jason Reynolds

Love, Love, Loved this book.  The picture is after I read the book and totally fan-girled him at ALA last summer.  Not only is the book amazing, but he's pretty great too.

Heather Demetrios

I was unsure about reading this book at first, but it turned out to be so much better than I expected.  I thought it was engaging and thoughtful. 

Stasia Ward Kehoe

I don't read much books written in verse, but I should probably read more of them, because those that I have read are beautiful.  This one is no exception. 

Markus Zusak

Took me FOREVER to read this book.  I really felt like I was one of the only people in America who hadn't read it.  It was pretty amazing.

Kendare Blake

Another author I am ashamed I hadn't read before this year.  I've been meaning to read Anna Dressed in Blood for forever, and I will get to it eventually, but in the meantime, I really enjoyed this one.

Emery Lord

I loved this book, it was so beautifully written. The characters and the story were so memorable. I look forward to reading so many more books from her in the future.

Mary Elizabeth Summer

A nice twist on the genre, it was well written and kept me entertained.  I found the characters to be likable, and the author is pretty unafraid of angering readers by tossing in an unexpected twist, so I actually find that to be refreshing.

Bethany Neal

This one was very reminiscent of Before I Fall, but it had a interesting difference.  I thought it was really well done.

Bethany Hagan

Yes it's another dystopian, but I found it to be a good twist on it. I look forward to the next book to see how the story plays out.

Cat Patrick

Another author where I'm a little late to the party.  I found this book to be really well done, and made me think.
