Top Ten Hyped Books I've Never Read

So so many books that could be added to this list.  Some I want to read and I just haven't gotten to, and others will remain unread.  Here are my 10.

I can't believe I haven't read this book yet.  It seems like the kind of read I would love, I just never got around to it.

I am actually half way through this book, I just completely lost interest.  I pretty much know what happens, so I don't feel like I'm missing too much, it's just kind of a thorn in my side that I never finished it.

I read the first few book in the Mortal Instruments series, and then I lost interest in reading the rest of them.  I know people love this series, I just don't know that I'll ever get to it.  Sadly I own this both in print and as an ebook.

I have a confession, I've only ever read two John Green books. This and Paper Towns could be interchangeable in that I haven't read either one.  I do plan on reading both at some point.

Another book that I can't believe I haven't read yet.  I have really enjoyed the other Libba Bray books, so I'm not sure why I never read this one.  Maybe one day.

Never going to happen.  I doubt I will ever read this book despite owning it.

Another series where I've heard amazing things.  I really have no excuse for not reading this series, particularly because it is so loved. Maybe one day.

See above.  No excuses except for lack of time.

Top Ten Eight Books People Have Been Telling You That You MUST Read

This is really hard because almost nobody tells me that I must read a book.  I am usually the one that doles out recommendations.  But here are my best efforts.

I've been told that this book is awesome and that I would love it.  I will get to it eventually.

I've read the first couple of books in the Mortal Instruments series, and I've been told these are just as good.

Top Ten Books I'm Not Sure I Want To Read

There are some books that people love, and I should read them, I'm just not sure that I would love them as well.  Feel free to make a case of any of them in the comments below.

There is a common thread among many of these books.  I have heard amazing things about this series, I just don't see myself reading it.

People seem to LOVE this book, and I often feel like the only person who hasn't read it.  However, it just doesn't seem like the type of book I would like.

Another book that people seemed to love, I just couldn't get interested in reading it.

I feel like I missed something big when I skipped reading this series.  Maybe one day I'll get to it, heck, I've even met the author, and have a signed copy of this.

Another book that just doesn't seem that interesting to me, even though I've heard really good things about it.

The positive is that I've heard the first book is the best one in the series and it goes downhill.  It makes me kind of happy that I probably won't be reading it.

This book has won a ton of awards, it just doesn't make me want to read it.

I think I've avoided this one on principle.  Maybe it's good.  I have no desire to see the movie either.

I don't like Faeries.  People seem to LOVE this series, but my distaste for faeries has kept me away.

It's the aliens.  It just seems like it would be too out there for me, even though it's an incredibly popular book.

Top Ten Popular/Prolific Authors I've Never Read

I have read a wide variety of authors, but there are some popular authors where I've never read a single book they've written.  Some of these only have a few books, others have a ton.  Some of these authors are more popular than others. Most of these I'm ashamed I haven't read any of their books.

She's written a lot of books.  Some are really popular, both those that were self-published and those that were picked up by major publishers.  I own half of them, I haven't read any yet.

I may be more ashamed that I haven't read any of her books than any other author on this list.  The reason?  I've met her, I own every single one of her books, and I follow her on twitter.  I have no excuse.

The Maze Runner series was popular, and now he has a new series coming out.  He's also been on the NYT best seller list forever.  I've just never read any of his books.

She's written a few series, and I own many of her books, I just haven't read them yet.

This is one I'm kind of embarrassed about.  Her books are insanely popular, and I own a few.  I just need to read them.

Her books are really, really popular and beloved.  I own many of them, I've read none.

She's on her second series, and I haven't read any books in either series.  I own several, but just haven't read them.

She's written a bunch of YA books as well as MG, and children's I have read none of them.  Once again, I own a bunch though.

In my defense, these are more middle grade books.  They were published long after I was reading MG, and I never caught up.  I've heard they're awesome though!

She is beloved and prolific.  I haven't read a single book she's written.
