Teaser and Top Ten Tuesday (#29) (10/08/13)

10/08/2013

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

From pg. 225

I'll admit that I noticed him right away--he was sitting on an expensive-looking lounge chair, and I thought he was cute.  Okay, fine, I thought he was gorgeous.

Top Ten Best/Worst Series Enders

Another confession.  I'm pretty terrible about finishing series.  I will read the first one or two, and never get around to the last. I am sure there are others I would put on this list if I ever manage o finish that final book.

The Best:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter #7) by

Mockingjay (The Hunger Games #3) by

Spell Bound (Hex Hall #3) by

Where She Went (If I Stay #2) by

Forever (The Wolves of Mercy Falls #3) by

Real Live Boyfriends: Yes. Boyfriends, Plural. If My Life Weren't Complicated, I Wouldn't Be Ruby Oliver (Ruby Oliver #4) by

Forever Princess (The Princess Diaries #10) by

I thought the 9th book in the series was the best of the bunch, but this one was great too.  The perfect ending fit for a fairytale.

The Worst:

Breaking Dawn (Twilight #4) by

Requiem (Delirium #3) by

One of my fist reviews for this blog was about how much I hated this book.  The bottom line is there is a way to have an open ending and a way not to.  This is perfect example of how NOT to do an open ending.  I really, really hated this book.

The Ghosts of Ashbury High (Ashbury/Brookfield #4) by

I was so disappointed in the end of the series.  I though this book was poorly paced and just weird and boring.  Plus Lydia and Seb!  Why?

  1. Love the cover on your teaser book! I read If I Stay, but couldn't get into Where She went. Glad to here you enjoyed it.

  3. Yay, I'm glad someone else has the Princess Diaries on their list. I also have HP down as a best ending and I'm not sure about the Hunger Games series. I find it so hard to come to one conclusion when I'm caught between liking parts of it and wanting to know more about others.

  4. Huh - I had Spellbound on my list of the worst. Mostly because of how the love triangle was resolved. I really, REALLY hated it. :(

  5. You have several series that are still on my TBR list. I need to read the last book in the HP series and I still have to start the Hex Hall and Mercy Falls series.

I included Mockingjay and Requiem on my list as well. http://jacquesbooknook.blogspot.com/2013/10/top-ten-tuesday-bestworst-series-endings.html

  7. I've read several YA books recently and thoroughly enjoyed them. This sounds like a good one too.
My Teaser is from AFTER ALL THESE YEARS.

  9. Nice picks! Really seeing a lot of mixed placings of Mockingjay and a lot of people aren't seeming to like Lauren Oliver's ending. My sister still needs to read that one, wondering what she will think since she's not avid as a reader as we all are!

Seeing mixed feelings over Forever, I think I liked it myself, it's been so long since I read it though! Seeing lots of Harry love! Loved it too! Forgot about Spell Bound myself. I was a bit heartbroken by it myself, but I still enjoyed it!

    Here's my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!

  11. There are a bunch of series in your "best" section that I'm looking forward to reading - even more now (Hex Hall, If I Stay, the Maggie Stiefvaters...). Great list!

  12. I've seen Breaking Dawn in a few other people's worst for the TTT, but I hadn't thought of it myself! Though it's been years since I read them and I was 14 at the time.. I really loved it though! Forever is a really great addition to the best category, I don't know why I didn't think of it myself!
