Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Tilt by Ellen Hopkins
From page 310
"God, Mik, I just want everything back like it was."
"He parks, comes around to open my door, and when I get out, he kisses me so sweetly I can barely remember why I was so angry.
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
This Week's Top ten is Top Ten Books I Recommend The Most.
Although I am constantly pushing books on people, I usually recommend the same books over and over. So 10 is a challenge.
Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
Speak remains one of the most powerful books I've ever read. It's not a happy or uplifting books, but it's an important one. It's also amazing and beautifully written.
The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1) by Suzanne Collins
If someone hasn't read this, it's one of the first things I recommend. Fortunately most people I know have already checked this out.
Divergent (Divergent #1) by Veronica Roth
This is my go-to book for those who have read the Hunger Games and are looking for their next book.
This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen
I swear I can find a way to add this to any list. My favorite book. I push this on everyone any anyone.
The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen
I'm kind of cheating by putting two Sarah Dessen books, but if I can't grab them with This Lullaby, then I tell them to get this one.
If I Stay
(If I Stay #1) by
Gayle Forman
This book is amazing. I cried, I swooned. I recommend this to anyone looking for a powerful moving story. As a matter of fact, my sister-in-law has had my copy for a while now.
Eleanor & Park by
Rainbow RowellThis book is amazing. I cried, I swooned. I recommend this to anyone looking for a powerful moving story. As a matter of fact, my sister-in-law has had my copy for a while now.
I just read this, but I've already recommended and talked it up to many people. It was an amazing book and I think people Ages 14-50 would love it.
Cinder (Lunar Chronicles #1) by Marissa Meyer
This was one of my favorite books that I read in 2011 (and ARC). It was so unique and so unexpected, I ended up spreading the word.
Shiver (The Wolves of Mercy Falls #1) by Maggie Stiefvater
I really recommend most of Maggie Stiefvater's books, but this one in particular. I recommend it to people who are looking for something different, and don't want another vampire book.
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
If someone is looking for a fun romantic YA book, this is the one I tell them to go read.
I've also been recommending Cinder and Anna and the French Kiss a lot! They're both fantastic books! I also recently convinced a friend who doesn't even read YA to check out The Hunger Games.
ReplyDeleteI"m excited to see Elanor and Park on your list that one's been tempting me lately!
ReplyDeleteMarissa @ Rae Gun Ramblings
Cinder, Eleanor & Park, and Anna and the French Kiss are on my TRB list. I'm still debating if I want to try Sarah Dessen, but I keep seeing her around so I'll give her a try.
ReplyDeleteJessica @ Literary, etc

ReplyDeleteGreat list!
My Top Ten
Oh yeah, Speak is such a powerful book. Like you said it isn't a particularly happy book, but I felt the ending was pretty uplifting. I am almost done with Eleanor and Park right now and it's amazing! I'm almost done.
ReplyDeleteCinder is on my list, too. Love the Lunar Chronicles.
Nothing like a kiss to make you forget about what you were thinking of! Great teaser...
ReplyDeleteHere's my TEASER TUESDAYS post.
If you think Cinder was great, just wait until you read Scarlet. It is AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteI've seen Cinder on pretty much every list this week. Thankfully, I just got a copy so I can start it, but still. LIKE EVERY LIST.
