A Friday Five (#5) Teeth by Hannah Moskowitz

3/22/2013

Each Friday I'll feature one of my favorite books or a book I read in the last week and come up 5 words to describe it.  View it as a super mini review.  This week I'm featuring Teeth by

This is the first book I’ve read by the author, so I didn’t know what to expect. Here are the words I would use to describe this book:

  1. Weird
  2. Fantastic
  3. Confusing
  4. Unique
  5. Quick

Weird:  At first I felt bad saying this, but then I read the acknowledgements, and she called it weird too, so I guess it’s alright to use it.  I mean this book was seriously bizarre. You could really place a number of adjectives in here but it all boils down to weird.

Fantastic:  This book is the definition of fantastic: Imaginative or fanciful; remote from reality. I really can’t think of a better way to sum this up.

Confusing:  Honestly, I was confused the entire time.  I just didn’t get this one.  I’m willing to try something else by the author, and will be reading Gone, Gone, Gone in the next month or so, but if that is anything like this one, I don’t think I can read any more of her books. After reading this book, I feel like shaking my head and asking “What the heck just happened?”  I feel like I just came back from an alternate reality.

Unique:  I can honestly say I have never read another book like this one.  I don’t think there’s anything that’s been written that can compare to this.

Quick:  The pacing was great. I think. I don’t know if it’s because I was confused the entire book or I just wanted to see if it ever made sense, but this flew by.

Let me know 5 words that describe the last book you read in the comments!

  1. This book definitely sounds unique and confusing! I really want to read Gone, Gone, Gone, and if I enjoy that one, I might give this one a try, too.
