"Waiting On" Wednesday (#2) Isla and the Happily Ever After

3/06/2013

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week I'm picking Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins.
Expected publication: September 17th 2013 by Dutton

From Goodreads:
From the glittering streets of Manhattan to the moonlit rooftops of Paris, falling in love is easy for hopeless dreamer Isla and introspective artist Josh. But as they begin their senior year in France, Isla and Josh are quickly forced to confront the heartbreaking reality that happily-ever-afters aren’t always forever.

Their romantic journey is skillfully intertwined with those of beloved couples Anna and Étienne and Lola and Cricket, whose paths are destined to collide in a sweeping finale certain to please fans old and new.

Why I'm Waiting:
I loved Anna, I loved Lola, and I am so excited to see how this one turns out.  JOSH! ISLA! PARIS!  So excited.  I feel like I've spent a lot of time more than just waiting for the book to come out.  I've waited for that sure, but I have also been waiting a really long time to see that COVER!  I've been waiting to use this as a WoW post until I got to see the cover.  I have a feeling that I'm not going to be the only one to feature it this week. I can't believe we've had to wait TWO years to get this book.  My only complaint is that while it  matches the new covers of the last two books, it looks nothing like the covers on the beautiful books that currently live on my bookshelf. But honestly, I like the new covers more.

  5. I picked this one too! AND EXACTLY FOR THE SAME REASON AS YOU (you're psychic, I picked it cause of the cover reveal). Also, we book bloggers are predictable.

    1. kind of. The characters in Anna and the French Kiss show up in Lola and the Boy Next Door, and both Josh and Isla were introduced in Anna.

  9. I still need to start Anna and the French Kiss, but I like a more realistic approach to love and it sounds like Perkins manages that.
